Swimming

Nicholas:   Last week Chris came to Clive School. She said we are the best school she has ever been to, because we are quick at getting dressed. In the pool we got to use life jackets. It was not easy to get your whole head underwater. I need to work on blowing bubbles. We swim at the school pool. We get rid of our air by blowing bubbles. We are learning lessons in the pool. It’s cool.

We go swimming at Clive School pool.  I am a stingray. I love swimming! The school pool is big.  Swimming is fun.  My class got to go in the life jackets, but I did not, because I got a nail in my foot.  I felt happy.  I smelt chlorine.  I think if I hadn't of stood on the nail I could have gone swimming.   By Aquilino

Bubble! Bubble! Bubble in the swimming pool.
Floating in a life jacket that's what we do, do, do, do
I am in the Dolphins group, yahoo!
In the dolphins we swim a length of freestyle!   Swim a length of backstroke!   Use a regular breathing action.
One! Two! Three! Dive!
Splash, I find being a dolphin is easy.   By Coral

I am trying my best to blow the bubbles in the Clive School pool.  I got a turn with the life jackets.  It was fun.  I am a dolphin for swimming.  It was fun.  I am nearly an advanced Dolphin. Mrs Petherick is the best teacher.  I really like this classroom.  My swimming group is the dolphin class.  I like my teacher.  I feel good and I like having my own desk.   By Reef

Yay, we are going to go in the Clive School pool.  Chris was here to help us learn to swim but she has gone to a different school now.  I am a dolphin.  Room 4 needs to practice blowing bubbles.  If we don't blow bubbles you won't get air out and if you don't get air out when you come up to breathe you will have to put your head up to get breath.  You will have to put your head up for quite a long time.  One time Chris brought some life jackets.  We played a game that the people with the life jacket had to save the people without the life jacket.  You need a life jacket when you go on the boat, so if you fall off you could float. The Dolphin group is easy!!!!   By Stella

Under water I see legs kicking. I hear lots of splashing. I’m a whale. I am practicing breathing without a flutter board. I think swimming is fun. I smell salt. I get water up my nose when I dive. I feel salt on the bottom of the pool.  By Zac

I am going in the school pool after morning tea. On Friday we have free play in the pool. Every day we swim but on Tuesday we don’t do P.E. I’m a Dolphin and we are learning to use a regular breathing action. Swim one length of freestyle. Swim one length of backstroke. Swim a two length medley.   By Chance

One day Chris came to Clive School. She taught us about water safety. We had life jackets on. It was fun. I miss Chris. She said we were the best school. It was fun. I saw lots of people swimming.   By Casey

I am in the stingray group. When we are learning swimming we do breathing lessons and blowing bubbles.   By Alexi

Splash! I'm in the pool with a life jacket on. Chris tells me to swim to the other side. I'm bobbing up and down.  Chris tells us to go in a huddle.  Our buddy is supposed to hug us and take us to the other side of the pool.  Chris gets a plastic box and puts it in the pool.  Lily jumps on it to see if it floats.  It does. I'm in the whales group.  I do 1,2,3, arms and then I try to blow bubbles.  We swim in the Clive School pool. When we do our 1,2,3, arms we have to make sure that we get our head on our shoulder and get new air in.  I've learnt from Chris and Mrs Petherick that if I've got a life jacket on and I see someone drowning I throw something to get them to float.   By Tom

At the Clive School Pool. I love the pool it’s so fun in the Clive School Pool.  We had Chris. I am in the whale group. Chris bought us life jackets. It was so much fun with the life jackets. Chris has left now, but she will come back soon. We have learnt a lot of things like free style. I see the glittering water in the pool. Swimming is my second favourite subject.   By Manawa

At Clive School we have a swimming pool. We have free swim every Friday. We have swimming groups. My group is whales. In my swimming group I am practicing backstroke. At the pool I see feet on the pool and on the ground. I taste the wet water.   By Jacob

In the Clive School pool I am learning to breathe properly and my group is seahorse. I’m fairly good at swimming, but I’m trying to blow bubbles. Swimming is one of the hardest things, that is why you have to learn it to swim better. I see in water but it sometimes makes me get sore eyes.   By Jayden

Swimming with Chris is fun. One day she brought life jackets. We pretended to drown and people would save the other people that were drowning. I see the pool. I hear the splashing.   By Wilbur

Swimming at the school pool is amazing. I love the flutter board because it helps me to kick my legs. I love blowing bubbles too. It is an amazing swimming school pool. I don’t know how to swim yet but I am trying my best. I love being in starfish group. No Tuesday swimming because we have science.   By Wilbur

I am a Dolphin in the Clive School Pool. I am learning to use a regular breath. We wore life jackets to help us float. I smell chlorine. I feel the water. By Liam

I'm in the Whale Group. I like swimming in the pool because I like everyone in the pool. I like rolling over on my side. I like swimming in the pool, it's cold and nice. I like it, it's fun. I feel like I am gliding in the water. I think one day I'll be good at swimming and win a competition. I see a black blurry line without goggles. It tastes great. I feel lots of swimming. By Lily

I did not go in the Clive Pool because I have eczema. I wish I could go in the pool. I am fine watching the other kids swim. By Dylan

I swim at the Clive School Pool. My goal is to blow bubbles under the water but I am pretty good at that. I am getting better each day at swimming. I like doing swimming. I can hear the teacher saying, "Do your front support arms." I can smell the pool. I can feel the water touching my hand when I am swimming in the water. When I get in the pool I feel good, very good. I say to myself, "I love swimming in pools and beaches." I practice on the weekends. By Naomi

Clive School has a big pool. I am a Whale in swimming. I'm learning to swim a width of freestyle. I need to work on breathing. I feel happy about learning how to swim. I see people splashing around in the pool. I hear kids laughing. I smell chlorine. I say I want to have fun too! By Cole

Swimming is cool because we get to have fun. I am a Dolphin. It's fun being a Dolphin because we get to do lots of things. It's important to blow bubbles and wear a life jacket. I see people underwater and I taste some of the water sometimes. I feel good. I hear splashes. By Max
