Faraday Centre Trip

On Wednesday Room 4 visited the Faraday Centre to learn about Gravity and Planets, this will be part of our new inquiry topic. Everybody had an amazing time and learned a lot of new and interesting information that inspired us, and will help us on our learning journey. Room 4 would also like to say a BIG thank you to all of the wonderful parent helpers for enabling us to take this trip.

Room 4 learning about the Earth and the Sun.

"I like the whispering walls because the sound bounces, and you can hear people from far away".

"I liked everything but my favourite thing was the lightening machine, which is made from electricity. The sparks come out and a clever man invented it".

"I liked the bike best, because no one could keep up with Audrey Anna. She was going so fast".

"I liked the power plant the best, because I liked all of the sparks which came out".

"I liked all of them, but my favourite one would be the glow in the dark cave".

"I learned electricity is good, but it is also dangerous and you shouldn't touch wires or sparks".

"I learned that the rainbow light can go up to the sky".

"I learned that electricity can go through you, and it can go into the ground".

"I learned that if the Earth didn't have gravity, the moon would float away".

"I learned that gravity is important, or we would float in the sky, and float everywhere".

"I learned that the sun doesn't go up high or down low, it is the Earth that is moving. The sun doesn't move, The Earth goes round".

"I learned that the sun stays in the same place. It is actually the Earth turning around".

"I learned that you can combine chemicals to make light, or power".

Hiwi the Kiwi

On Tuesday Clive School was lucky to have a visit from Hiwi the Kiwi. The whole school packed out the hall to be entertained by songs and jokes with an important water safety message. Room 4 students were there to learn and have fun! Two of our students were lucky enough to win some cool prizes for taking part and answering important questions. Well done Room 4!
